Dwelling In Erised

Unleash the happy ghosts within

The Library of Erised

Hello! Welcome to my virtual library. This is a page dedicated it to all the books that I’ve read in my lifetime–or at least the ones that I remember–and links to books reviews or blog posts on them.

In addition, I have a music room, a movie room, and a manga and anime corner you can peruse if you’d like. After all, what’s the point of having a library if you don’t have actual fun in life besides books? 😛 Enjoy!

My favorite picture books

PICTURE BOOKS ARE LIFE. I love art, and I believe that it’s actually harder to write a good picture book than a good novel. Simplicity is a challenge in itself, and these selections below are among my favorite!

For Kids and Young Teens

The Magic Tree House series was my first addiction to a series when I was in the first grade, and I literally bought every single one of them. Then soon followed other addictions–Junie B. Jones, The Boxcar Children, Beverly Clearly, Andrew Clements, Roald Dahl, Narnia, Harry Potter, Lois Lowry, Cornelia Funke, Judy Blume, The Shadow Children, Artemis Fowl….

There’s literally way too many to remember!

Young Adult, Fantasy, Etc.

There’s a serious epidemic nowadays when it comes to a lack of originality in YA nowadays, so I don’t read as much of this genre as I used to. But these are a few I’ve read…not all of them are great though lol:P

Fiction/contemporary literature

So these are books…of new literature? It’s certainly not YA…I don’t really know how to categorize these, but I love these books all the same:)

Classic literature

And of course, the books we had to read in high school. Haha, just joking, but I’m pretty sure I read about 60% of these books in high school:P

My Absolute Top Picks

If I had to recommend my absolute favorites to people of various ages, these would be my smattering of recommendations! Six of Crows is my most recent addition (it’s a GREAT series), and The Once and Future King is my absolute favorite book of all time; then there are oldies like Harry Potter, Roald Dahl, The Bartimaeus Trilogy….
